Setting Up Multi-Pack and Bundle SKUs
Multi-pack and bundle SKUs (e.g., a 2-pack or gift set) always require their own dedicated SKU in Cahoot — separate from the individual component SKUs. This article explains the supported ways to set this up, so you can pick the option that fits your sales channels and operations best.
Option 1: Send Pre-Assembled Bundles to Cahoot (Recommended)
The fastest and most cost-efficient option is to assemble your multi-packs before sending them to Cahoot. The pre-bundled units arrive at the fulfillment center ready to ship, with no reboxing labor or additional work orders required.
This option works for any sales channel (Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Shopify, etc.).
How to set it up:
- Create the bundle as its own SKU in Cahoot with a unique barcode.
- Physically assemble and label the bundles at your location (or your supplier's).
- Create an inbound shipment for the bundle SKU and send the finished units to Cahoot.
- Replenish by sending more pre-assembled bundles whenever inventory runs low.
See Creating Inbound Shipments for how to send inventory to Cahoot.
Option 2: Create Bundles at Cahoot via a Reboxing Work Order
If your individual component SKUs are already stored at Cahoot and you want to start selling multi-packs without shipping new inventory, you can have the Cahoot warehouse assemble the bundles for you via a Reboxing/Polybagging Work Order.
This option works for any sales channel and is the right choice when you cannot (or do not want to) use the Shopify Bundles app described in Option 3.
How it works:
- Create the bundle as its own SKU in Cahoot with a unique barcode.
- Submit a Reboxing Work Order specifying the component SKUs, the recipe (e.g., 2x component per bundle), and how many bundles to produce.
- The Cahoot warehouse assembles the bundles and applies the bundle barcode.
- Once complete, the bundle SKU is available to fulfill orders like any other SKU.
See Reboxing Work Orders for Multi-Pack and Bundle SKUs for full setup instructions.
Option 3: Shopify Only — Use the Shopify Bundles App
If you sell on Shopify and prefer to keep only individual component SKUs at Cahoot, you can use the Shopify Bundles app to break bundle orders into their component line items before the order is imported into Cahoot. Cahoot then receives and fulfills the order as if the customer had ordered each component individually, with no dedicated bundle SKU required on the Cahoot side.
This option only works for Shopify orders. For Amazon, Walmart, eBay, or any other channel, use Option 1 or Option 2.
See Bundle SKU Setup for Shopify Integration for configuration details.
Option 4: Manually Import Orders with Component SKUs
If none of the above options fit your workflow, you can monitor your sales channel for incoming bundle orders and manually create the corresponding orders in Cahoot using the individual component SKUs and quantities. For example, when you receive an order for a 2-pack SKU in Amazon, you would manually import it into Cahoot as 2 units of the single-item SKU. Cahoot then picks and ships the individual items as a standard multi-quantity order.
See Manual Order Import for instructions.
