Bundle SKU Setup for Shopify Integration
If your Shopify store sells bundle products (multi-packs, kits, or product combinations) and you've sent individual component SKUs to Cahoot rather than pre-bundled SKUs, you'll need to configure the Shopify Bundles app to ensure proper order processing. This ensures that when customers purchase bundles, Cahoot receives orders with the individual component SKUs and quantities it expects.
When This Applies
- Your store sells multi-pack items (e.g., a 3-pack of socks)
- You offer product bundles or kits
- You sent individual component SKUs to Cahoot, not pre-bundled SKUs
How It Works
- Customer orders a bundle product on your storefront
- The Bundles app automatically converts the bundle into individual component SKUs after payment
- Cahoot receives the order with individual SKUs and correct quantities
- Fulfillment proceeds normally using the individual component products
Setup Steps
1Install the Bundles App from the Shopify App Store.
2In the Bundles app, configure each bundle product:
- Bundle Product SKU: Leave empty — do not assign a SKU to the bundle product itself
- Component Products: Ensure all individual component products have their own unique SKUs
- Inventory Tracking: Enable tracking on component products only. The bundle product itself should have no inventory tracking — it is just a container for its components
3Place a test order with a bundle product and verify:
- The order shows individual component SKUs with correct quantities
- No bundle SKU appears in the order details
Troubleshooting
Bundle SKU appears in orders along with components
Ensure the bundle product has no SKU assigned in the Bundles app configuration.
Components don't break down properly
Verify the bundle is configured correctly in the Bundles app.
Inventory tracking problems
Ensure inventory tracking is enabled on the component products, not on the bundle product itself.
