How to Fix the 'An Error Occurred While Processing Your Request' Error
If you see an error page in Cahoot that reads "An error occurred while processing your request" — often with the additional text "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" — this article walks you through what to try on your own and when to contact support.
Try This First
This error is usually caused by a stale browser session or cached data. Work through these steps in order — most merchants resolve it at step 1 or 2.
1Do a hard refresh. Press Ctrl+F5 (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) to reload the page while bypassing the cache. This resolves the error in most cases.
2Clear your browser cache and cookies, then log in again. Close all Cahoot browser tabs, clear your browser's cache and cookies for letscahoot.net, then reopen the site and log in.
3Navigate to a direct URL. If the error keeps appearing on the same page, try going directly to https://app.letscahoot.net/vendorlogin/default to get past the error state.
4Reset your password. If the error persists, reset your password by clicking Forgot Password on the login page, or by going directly to the Change Password page. Log in with your new password and retry the action that triggered the error.
Still Seeing the Error?
If none of the steps above resolve the error, it may be an issue with your login session. Open a support ticket and include:
- Confirmation that you tried each of the three steps above
- The page or URL where the error appears
- The exact error text (or a screenshot of the error page)
- The date, time, and timezone when the error started
Submit your ticket through the Submit Ticket system.
