Configuring Signature Confirmation for Shipping Labels
You can require signature confirmation on your shipments to ensure added delivery security. Cahoot supports signature confirmation requirements, which can be configured either when creating individual labels or at the SKU level through Package Manager Data.
Can I require signature confirmation on my shipments?
Yes, you can require signature confirmation for shipments if the carrier and service level support it. Signature confirmation can be configured at two levels:
- Individual Label Level – applied when creating a specific shipping label.
- SKU Level – managed through Package Manager Data for ongoing shipments.
Signature confirmation adds an extra layer of security by requiring someone to sign for the package upon delivery. Different carriers offer varying levels of signature requirements:
UPS Options:
- No Confirmation (default) - Standard delivery without signature
- Delivery Confirmation - Basic confirmation of delivery
- Signature Required - Any adult signature accepted
- Adult Signature Required - Valid ID required, must be 21+
USPS Options:
- No Confirmation (default) - Standard delivery without signature
- Signature Confirmation - Any adult signature accepted
- Adult Signature - Valid ID required, must be 21+
FedEx Options:
- No Signature Required (default) - Standard delivery without signature
- Indirect Signature Required - Signature from anyone at address or neighbor
- Direct Signature Required - Signature from recipient only
- Adult Signature Required - Valid ID required, must be 21+
You can add signature confirmation when manually creating labels through the Create Label page.
1Navigate to the Create Label page for your order.
2Locate the Signature Confirm dropdown in the label creation form.
3Select your desired signature confirmation level from the available carrier options.
4Complete the label creation process as normal.
Configure signature confirmation at the SKU level to automatically apply it to all orders containing that product. This is the only method available for Network Sellers who use Cahoot fulfillment.
1Navigate to Products → Products in your Cahoot account.
2Find the SKU you want to configure and click Edit Package Data (or Add Package Data if none exists).
3In the Package Manager window, click the Additional Options link to expand the extra settings section.
4Locate the Signature Confirm dropdown under Additional Options.
5Select the appropriate signature confirmation level from the dropdown.
6Click Save to apply the configuration.
For MLMQ orders, if there is a combination where one SKU requires signature confirmation and another does not, the shipment section will display signature confirmation for the entire order
When to Use SKU-Level Configuration:
- You are a Network Seller using Cahoot fulfillment partners
- You want signature confirmation applied consistently to all orders for specific products
- You ship high-value items that always require signature confirmation
- You want to automate signature requirements without manual label configuration
