Fixing Invalid Addresses for your Own Orders
Invalid address errors are one of the most common reasons orders get flagged for Manual Review during auto-label generation. This article explains how to find orders with invalid addresses and correct them using Address Validation.
Finding Orders with Invalid Addresses
1Go to the Failed Labels section on your Cahoot Dashboard and click the number next to Invalid Address under Your Orders.
2Click the Order ID to open the order details page, or click Create Label to go directly to the label creation page.
Method 1: Fix Address from the Sales Order Page
1On the order details page, click Edit & Validate Address.
2Click Validate Address to retrieve suggested corrections from the carrier's address validation system.
3Review the suggestions, select the correct address, then click Save.
Method 2: Fix Address from the Create Label Page
You can also fix addresses directly from the label creation workflow if you're already there.
1From the Failed Labels report or the order details page, click Create Shipping Label.
2Click Edit & Validate Address and follow the same validation steps as Method 1.
Bypassing Address Validation (USPS Only)
The Bypass Address Verification checkbox is available on the Create Label page, but only when shipping with USPS. This option does not appear for other carriers (UPS, FedEx, etc.).
When you check Bypass Address Verification, the label will be created using the address exactly as entered — with no validation or correction from the carrier. Use this only when you are confident the address is correct despite failing validation.
