Printer Setup
Printer setup steps vary by device, but this guide covers the Cahoot test-label workflow and the Zebra Browser Print setup used by most thermal label printers. If labels do not print correctly, start by confirming that the correct printer drivers are installed.
Test Your Printer in Cahoot
1Log in to Cahoot at https://app.letscahoot.net/merchant.
2Navigate to Settings > View Test Labels.
3Select the test print option that matches your printer setup:
- If you print shipping labels on 8.5 x 11" paper, click Print Test Integrated Label.
- If you print shipping labels only on 4x6 thermal paper, click the arrow on Print Test Integrated Label and select Print 4x6 Label.
- If you print both the label and packing slip on thermal paper, click the arrow on Print Test Integrated Label and select Print 4x6 Label and Packing Slip.
4If the file prints successfully, click Close. If it does not, continue with the troubleshooting steps below before contacting the Cahoot Support team.
Troubleshoot Zebra Browser Print
1Download and install Zebra Browser Print from Zebra Product Support.
2Open the Browser Print service settings.
Where to find the settings:
- Windows: System tray > right-click Browser Print > Settings
- Mac: Top status menu > right-click Browser Print > Settings
3Go to Change > Add Device.
4Leave the settings window open, then open Google Chrome.
5Approve and add the local host device in Chrome if prompted.
Enable Silent Printing in Chrome
Silent Printing lets Chrome print barcodes, labels, and forms without showing the standard print preview and confirmation popups.
1On your desktop, right-click your Google Chrome shortcut and select Properties.
2Open the Shortcut tab and find the Target field.
3Add a space followed by "--kiosk-printing" at the end of the target path.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" "--kiosk-printing"
"C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" "--kiosk-printing"
4Click Apply, then OK.
5Close all Chrome windows.
6Reopen Chrome using that shortcut. Chrome will now print automatically to your default printer.
