Why are Orders in Manual Review?
Orders flagged for Manual Review require seller attention before shipping labels can be generated. Common reasons for Manual Review include invalid addresses or missing carrier rates. Understanding why an order is in Manual Review is essential, as it allows you to resolve the issue, create the shipping label manually, and take preventive measures to avoid similar problems in the future.
Common Manual Review Reasons
Here are common reasons orders get flagged for Manual Review.
1.) Invalid Address: Customer Address needs to be validated or fixed.
2.) Sales order is missing shipping rates from some carriers: Missing carrier rates is usually caused by an invalid address. Try validating the address and create the label manually.
3.) Missing Package Data: System cannot compute shipping rates if a line item on the order is missing package data. Add Package Data and create the label manually.
4.) 3D Bin Packing attempt failed: Items cannot fit into a single package based on the item or box dimensions configured.
The following settings are required for MLMQ automation to work properly:
- Accurate product and box dimensions (LxWxH) are configured in Cahoot.
- Volume of box used is between 65% - 95% (contact support to adjust this setting).
- Box quantity is positive.

5.) Sales order weight exceeds limit for automated label generation: Package is oversized. Split the order and ship in smaller parcels.
Identify Manual Review Reasons
Steps on how to identify the reason your order is in Manual Review.
1. Navigate to the Failed Label section of your Cahoot Dashboard and select the number next to Manual Review.
2. Add the [Order Codes] column, which will display the reason each order is in Manual Review.
3. Manual review reasons are also shown on the sales order page by hovering the mouse over the Manual Review tag. This also works on the Create Label page.
