Handling Backorders
Backorders occur when orders cannot be fulfilled due to insufficient inventory across Cahoot's fulfillment network.
When stock levels are depleted, orders automatically move to No Match Found (NMF) status and require seller intervention. To minimize backorders, regularly monitor your "Qty Available" in the Your Inventory with Partners dashboard and maintain adequate stock levels across all locations.
There are 3 methods for handling backorders in Cahoot:
- Wait and Reset: Leave orders in NMF status until you replenish inventory, then Reset them for Cahoot Fulfillment.
- Cancel Orders: Exclude the orders in Cahoot if the items won't be available.
- Self-Fulfillment: Use Cahoot Software to ship the orders from your location (requires Label Software License).
Note: After inventory replenishment, Cahoot will only fulfill new active orders, not existing orders in No Match Found status. To have Cahoot fulfill backorders, you must manually reset them once inventory becomes available.
How to Find and Reset Backorders
Note: Backorders are found in No Match Found or Excluded status.
1Go to Orders > All Orders.
2Filter the From Date.
3Use the Order Status drop-down to filter either Excluded and/or No Match Found and click Go.
