Tracking Inventory in Cahoot
Cahoot tracks inventory at the unit level, in real time, across all Cahoot Fulfillment Centers. This article explains how inventory quantities are calculated, how to view current stock levels, and how to review the full history of inventory changes for any SKU.
Viewing Current Inventory Levels
1Go to Inventory > Your Inventory with Partners.
Each SKU displays three inventory quantities:
- Partner Qty Available — Real-time inventory available for fulfillment across all Cahoot warehouses. This is the quantity not yet committed to any order.
- Partner Qty Committed — Units actively assigned to orders in Match Confirmed status that have not yet shipped.
- Partner Qty On Hand — Total units in stock. Equals Partner Qty Available + Partner Qty Committed.
How Inventory Quantities Change with Orders
Understanding how these three quantities move as orders are processed helps you reconcile inventory at any point in the fulfillment cycle.
When an Order Is Assigned to a Fulfillment Center
When a new order is assigned to a Cahoot Fulfillment Center, Partner Qty Available decreases by the number of units in the order and Partner Qty Committed increases by the same amount. Because no inventory has physically left the warehouse, Partner Qty On Hand stays the same.
Example: A new single-unit order is assigned. One unit moves from Available to Committed — On Hand remains unchanged.
When a Shipping Label Is Created
Once a shipping label is generated and the order is fulfilled, Partner Qty On Hand and Partner Qty Committed each decrease by the shipped unit count. The inventory is no longer available in the warehouse.
Reviewing Inventory Transaction History
Every inventory change — whether from order fulfillment, an inbound receipt, or a manual adjustment — is recorded as an Inventory Transaction. There are two ways to access this history.
From the Inventory Transactions Page
1Go to Inventory > Inventory Transactions.
2Search by SKU to display all transactions for that item.
From the Product History Tab
All fulfillments and adjustments are also accessible at the product level. Go to Products > Products, open a SKU, and click the History tab to see all completed inventory transactions for that item.
You can also access the History tab by clicking a SKU from within the Order Details page.
