Understanding the Shipping Label Ready Status
The "Shipping Label Ready" status means Cahoot has created a shipping label and sent tracking information to your marketplace. This is a normal part of the fulfillment workflow.
📋 Understanding the Order Flow
Here's what happens as your order moves through fulfillment:
1Shipping Label Ready: Cahoot creates the shipping label and sends tracking information to your marketplace.
2Shipped: The fulfillment partner prints the label and prepares the package for carrier pickup.
3In Transit: The carrier picks up the package and performs the first scan.
⏱️ Normal Processing Times
You may see orders remain in "Shipping Label Ready" or "Match Confirmed" status throughout the business day:
- Before 2:00 PM local time: Orders are still within the processing window and will be printed and shipped by end of day
- After 2:00 PM cutoff: New labels created after cutoff will be printed and shipped the next business day
- Weekends & Holidays: Orders will wait until the next business day when the warehouse resumes operations
🔍 When to Take Action
You should only be concerned if:
- An order remains in "Shipping Label Ready" 24 hours past the Cahoot Ship By Date.
- The order was supposed to ship days ago based on your shipping commitments
- You see Invalid Address tag on the order indicating an issue
If Your Order Is Stuck in "Shipped" Status: This means the carrier has not scanned the package yet. Carriers sometimes lose, misroute, or fail to scan packages—this is especially common with USPS, where scans may not appear for several days.
- Wait 7 days: The carrier may have made a mistake and the package could be found, scanned, and rerouted correctly
- After 7 days: Contact your customer to check if they received the package—carriers sometimes deliver packages without scanning them
- If not delivered: File a claim with the carrier if needed
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the order show "Shipping Label Ready" if the label hasn't been printed yet?
Cahoot creates the shipping label and sends tracking information to your marketplace as soon as the order is matched to a fulfillment partner. This ensures your marketplace receives tracking quickly and updates the customer. The fulfillment partner then prints the physical label when they're ready to pack and ship the order, before the 2:00 PM daily cutoff.
Can I print the label myself and ship the order from my location?
No. Once an order is assigned to a fulfillment partner in the Cahoot Network, only that partner can print labels and ship packages. Network Sellers cannot intercept or redirect orders allocated to fulfillment partners.
If you need to fulfill the order yourself (outside Cahoot), remove the order from fulfillment to exclude the order.
What's the difference between "Match Confirmed," "Shipping Label Ready," "Shipped," and "In Transit"?
- Match Confirmed: Order has been assigned to a fulfillment partner but the shipping label hasn't been created yet
- Shipping Label Ready: Shipping label has been created and tracking sent to your marketplace, but the label hasn't been printed by the fulfillment partner
- Shipped: The fulfillment partner has printed the label and prepared the package for carrier pickup
- In Transit: The carrier has picked up and scanned the package, and tracking is now active in the carrier's system
Why do some orders stay in "Match Confirmed" while others move to "Shipping Label Ready"?
Fulfillment partners process orders in batches throughout the day. Some orders may have labels created immediately while others remain in "Match Confirmed" until later in the day. Both statuses are normal before the 2:00 PM cutoff, and all orders will be printed and shipped before end of day.
