Configuring Email Recipients
Email recipient configuration lets you route different notification types to the appropriate team members. For example, EOD form notifications can go to warehouse staff while shipping alerts go to your fulfillment team.
How to Request Configuration Changes
Contact Cahoot Support with the following information:
1Identify which notifications you want to activate or modify.
2Specify the email addresses that should receive each notification type.
3Indicate whether each email address should be configured as To, CC, or BCC.
4Submit Ticket with your request.
Example Configuration Request
Notification: Shipping Overdue (15 minutes) - Shipper
- To: shipping@example.com (Shipping Manager)
- CC: warehouse@example.com (Warehouse Supervisor)
- BCC: operations@example.com (Operations Director)
This configuration ensures the shipping manager receives immediate alerts about overdue shipments, while keeping warehouse and operations teams informed.
Common Use Cases
Routing EOD Form Notifications to Warehouse Staff
End of Day (EOD) form notifications are typically managed by warehouse personnel who handle daily shipping operations. Configure the EOD Form Notification (Shipper) to be sent to your warehouse team's email address as the primary recipient, with a CC to your operations manager for visibility.
Shipping Alert Notifications for Fulfillment Teams
Time-sensitive alerts like Shipping Overdue (15 minutes) or Shipping Label Ready but Not Downloaded (30 minutes) should reach the team members responsible for processing and shipping orders. Send these to your fulfillment team's shipping department, with BCC copies to management for monitoring.
Delivery Exception Alerts for Customer Service
Delivery exceptions, delays, and return notifications may require customer service follow-up. Route notifications like Delivery Exception - Seller and Package Returned by Carrier - Seller to your customer service team.
Reducing Email Overload
By routing notifications to specific team members, you can reduce email overload on your primary account and ensure each person only receives notifications relevant to their responsibilities. Group related notifications by function (shipping, customer service, warehouse operations) and assign each group to the appropriate team members.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I configure notification emails myself?
No. You can view your notification settings in Settings > My Profile > Notifications Tab, but only Cahoot Support can modify email recipient configurations.
How long does it take for Support to configure my notifications?
Configuration requests are typically processed within 1–2 business days. Support will confirm the changes once they are complete.
Can I send the same notification to multiple email addresses?
Yes. You can configure To, CC, and BCC recipients for each notification type, allowing multiple team members to receive the same alerts with different visibility levels.
Can I turn off specific notifications?
Yes. When submitting your configuration request to Support, specify which notifications you want to activate or deactivate.
What's the difference between To, CC, and BCC recipients?
- To: Primary recipients who should take action on the notification
- CC (Carbon Copy): Recipients who should be kept informed but may not need to take action
- BCC (Blind Carbon Copy): Recipients who receive the notification without other recipients knowing
Will I still receive notifications at my primary email address?
Yes. When a notification is active, it is sent to your primary account email address by default. Additional To, CC, and BCC recipients are configured in addition to your primary email, not as replacements.
