Carrier Package Intercept: When and How to Redirect Your Shipment
Package intercept services allow you to redirect a package that's already in transit to a new address or have it returned to the sender. UPS, FedEx, and USPS all offer these services, though each has specific requirements and limitations.
General Eligibility Requirements
Timing is Critical: Package intercept requests must be submitted before the package is delivered or out for final delivery. Once a package is loaded on the delivery vehicle for its final destination, intercept options become unavailable.
Eligibility: For most carriers, only the original sender can request a package intercept. Recipients typically cannot initiate intercept requests unless specifically authorized by the sender or in certain limited circumstances.
Order Status: The package must receive a carrier origin scan and still be in the carrier's network but not yet delivered. Packages that are damaged, already delivered, or being held at a facility for pickup may not be eligible for intercept.
⚠️ Important for Cahoot Shipments: For packages shipped on Cahoot's carrier accounts, standard intercept procedures may not apply. First, try calling the carrier directly to submit a package intercept.

Important Notes
Fees Apply: All carriers charge fees for package intercept services, and these fees are in addition to any original shipping costs.
No Guarantees: While carriers make every effort to intercept packages, success is not guaranteed, especially if the request is made close to the delivery date.
Address Changes: When redirecting to a new address, ensure the new location is within the carrier's delivery area and can accept the type of package being shipped.
Tracking Updates: Monitor tracking information closely after submitting an intercept request, as delivery dates and locations will change once the intercept is processed.
