Fulfillment Partner Emergency Warehouse Closure
If your fulfillment center needs to temporarily close due to severe weather, natural disasters, or other emergency situations, immediate action is required to minimize disruption to order fulfillment and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders. This guide outlines the critical steps to take before, during, and after an emergency closure to ensure proper handling of pending orders, inventory, and carrier notifications.
Reminder: Fulfillment Partners (CFPs) are expected to fulfill orders Monday through Saturday, excluding the US Postal Service Observed Holidays and Amazon Listed Holidays.
Warehouse Closure Guide
1. Immediate Communication: Submit an urgent support ticket and include the following:
- Reason for emergency closure
- Expected duration of closure
- Current status of pending orders
- Best emergency contact method
2. Secure & Protect Inventory
- Move inventory away from potential hazards (windows, flood-prone areas).
- Protect inventory from environmental damage (water, humidity, temperature).
- Take photos of secured inventory if possible for documentation.
3. Address Pending Orders
- Secure all packed orders that haven't shipped (packed but not picked up).
- Contact carriers about scheduled pickups.
4. Resuming Operations
- Notify Cahoot Support immediately when facility reopens.
- If applicable, provide status on facility & inventory conditions or any limitations during initial reopening.
