Resolving Issues with Barcode Scan Verification
Sometimes there can be physical flaws or issues with a product barcode that prevents scanning. If you encounter issues with barcode scan verification, your primary goal is to ensure timely order fulfillment. This guide provides steps to bypass the verification process and generate a shipping label while also collecting necessary information for our investigation.
Common barcode issues include:
- Item is missing a barcode
- Product barcode is damaged/unreadable
- Barcode scanner is not working
Manual Scan Verification (Barcode Issues)
1. Select the checkbox setting, Enter Barcode Manually.
2. Select the reason why Manual Barcode Entry is required and add additional comments under the Notes field.
3. Type in the barcode value manually into the entry field, then Verify.
Post-Shipment Investigation
After shipping all the orders using the manual verification method, please provide answers to the following questions in a support ticket to help us resolve the underlying barcode verification issue.
1. Are all units of the item having the same barcode scanning issue? |
2. Scan barcodes into a text editor (e.g., Notepad) and share the values that get returned? |
3. Provide a well-lit picture of the items, ensuring the barcode is visible. |
4. Print a Cahoot Barcode and let us know if they scan? |
