Processing FBA Forwarding Work Orders
FBA Forwarding Work Orders are used to move Cahoot inventory from your warehouse to Amazon FBA warehouses. When preparing shipments for an FBA Forwarding Work Order, there are specific requirements that must be followed:
Important: Regardless of shipment type (Small Parcel or LTL), FBA box ID labels are required on all shipping boxes. It is critical that you pack items precisely, according to the SKU & Quantity shown on the FBA box ID labels.
Small Parcel Delivery (SPD)
Small parcel deliveries (SPDs) are for items packed in individual boxes, and the shipping boxes individually labeled for delivery. These are normally smaller shipments that are sent through UPS or FedEx.
1. On the Work Order page, click Acknowledge Work Order to begin processing.
2. Under shipping documents, click the blue circle number logo to print the FBA labels.
3. Pack items according to the specifications shown on each (FBA) box ID Label, which displays both the SKU Name and required Quantity.
4. Affix the (FBA box ID labels & carrier shipping labels) to each carton and ship them with your daily carrier pickup. Review box label requirements.
- Don't place labels on a seam or opening on the box because they will be damaged when the box is opened.
- Place both the (FBA) box ID label and the carrier label (UPS, FedEx, or other SPD carrier) on a flat surface of the box so the barcodes don’t fold over the edges or corners.
- Both labels must remain uncovered so they are scannable and readable.
Custom Packing
For FBA work orders approved without FBA Box Labels, please complete the following steps so we can generate the appropriate FBA Labels:
-
For items with original case packs:
- Pack items in their original case packs.
- Verify that the packed case quantities align with the master case pack quantities configured in the system.
- Enter the case dimensions/weights under the Packing Information section.
-
For items without original case packs:
- Pack inventory using available Cahoot boxes.
- Record the SKU and quantity packed in each box.
- Ensure consistent unit quantities per box.
- Pack items separately (do not mix different items in the same box).
- Enter the case dimensions/weights under the Packing Information section.
- Send a conversation with the quantities for each box and let us know which Cahoot boxes were used for packing.
Less-than-Truck Load (LTL)
Less Than Truckload/Full Truckload (LTL/FTL) shipment combines individual boxes on pallets for delivery.
1. Under shipping documents, print the FBA Box Labels and pack items according to the specifications shown on each FBA Box Label (SKU Name and Quantity).
2. After FBA Box ID Labels are added to each carton, palletize the boxes and enter the pallet dimensions & weights under the Packing Information. Review Pallet Requirements.
Once the pallet information is provided, we will generate the FBA Pallet Labels and upload them under the Shipping Documents section.
2. Shrink wrap the pallets and affix the FBA Pallet Labels to all 4 sides of each pallet.
3. Once done, mark the work order as Pending Pickup and notify Cahoot via the conversations panel.
Remember to take pictures of the prepped pallets and upload them on the work order. You cannot Complete the work order without these pictures.
4. The BOL will be uploaded under the Shipping Documents section. Print the BOL and have pallets ready on the Est. Pickup Date.
Important: Amazon Freight tends to be unreliable at times. Notify Cahoot if the driver does not show up on the estimated pickup date.
1. Pallet height cannot exceed 72 inches and a single packed pallet must not exceed 1,500 lbs.
