Configuring Alias SKUs
An Alias SKU is a way to link different product SKUs that represent the same physical item in your inventory. For example, you might sell the same red t-shirt using different SKU names across Amazon, Walmart, and eBay. In Cahoot, you'll create one Primary SKU for the t-shirt, then connect all other SKUs as Aliases. This ensures accurate inventory tracking and streamlined order fulfillment, regardless of which sales channel the order comes from.

Adding Alias SKUs
1. Go to Products > All Products and use the various filters to find the SKU you want to add Alias SKUs for, and click Edit in the Action column.
2. On the Alias SKUs tab, add the alternate (Alias) SKUs (required field), add ASIN if the SKU is listed on Seller Central, and add Item Name information if it's different from the Master SKU.
3. Use Bulk Copy to add Alias SKUs in bulk, making sure that each line is comma separated as in this example (up to 25 SKUs can be added at a time):
Cahoot validates Alias SKUs to ensure no duplication. Duplicates will result in an error message.
When an order is imported for an Alias SKU, both the Primary SKU and the Alias SKU will be displayed on the Order Details page.
Resolving Issues with Alias SKUs
When orders arrive before Alias SKUs are properly configured, Cahoot automatically creates them as new Primary SKUs. This leads to orders being marked as "No Match Found" instead of being routed to Match Confirmed for Cahoot fulfillment.
Existing Primary SKUs cannot be directly converted to Alias SKUs. Below are steps to resolve these common issues, including how to properly rename and reconfigure SKUs to establish the correct Primary-Alias relationships.
1. Click Products > All Products.
2. Search for the SKU that should be an alias and click Go.
3. Click Edit in the Action column.
4. Edit the SKU name by appending the suffix "-delete" and click Save.
By changing the SKU Name, you can now add the alias to the correct Primary SKU.
5. Search for the Primary SKU that needs the alias added and click Go.
6. Click Edit in the Action column.
7. On the Alias SKUs tab, add the Alias SKU, (including ASIN and Item Name, if applicable). Click Save.
